When a young Spokane, Washington woman goes missing, it’s not reported until more than a year later. Investigators unravel the story of a vanished woman whose adopted family called her their real-life “Cinderella” in this episode of Last Seen Alive.
Courtney Holden was 27-years-old when she went missing from her home in Spokane, Washington in 2018. She vanished after trying to flee the home, where she’d been subjected to years of domestic abuse, primarily by her adopted brother. Note the “smile you’re on camera” sign in the lower left-hand corner–Courtney’s adopted brother had outfitted the house with security cameras. When investigators eventually searched the home, they discovered that the DVR containing security footage was nowhere to be found. While in her early 20s, Courtney gave birth to a son, who was the light of her life. After police began investigating Courtney’s disappearance, her adopted mother and brother fled to a different state with her son, who they hid from his father until investigators located them.
