UNSOLVED HOMICIDE: JANICE WESSINGER

When a well-liked South Carolina woman is murdered and left in the woods near her home, her family and friends are devastated. Investigators discover that the beloved mother and accomplished healthcare provider may have been stalked prior to her death in this episode of Last Seen Alive.

South Carolina authorities have placed Janice’s case on a card in a “cold case” playing card deck distributed to South Carolina inmates in an effort to gain information.
Janice was a capable and dedicated emergency healthcare provider, a gifted musician and a loving mother. She is missed by her family, friends and community.
Janice’s family and friends were immediately alarmed when she vanished on November 22, 1997. They formed a search party, and her remains were located less than a mile from her rural home the following morning. Her killer remains unidentified.
Janice lived in rural Aiken County, South Carolina, and often enjoyed going for walks in her neighborhood. Her remains were located in a wooded area less than a mile from her home (home denoted by red pin), in a wooded area, a short distance from the road.
