Maggie Long was murdered on Dec. 1st, 2017–just weeks before her 18th birthday. Maggie was a straight-A high school senior who passionately participated in extracurricular activities like debate and speech teams. Maggie lived with her parents and sisters in Bailey, Colorado–a small town in the Rocky Mountain foothills. Maggie died in a house fire that was deliberately set by her killers. Pictured: fire damage inside the Long family home. Firefighters suppressed the blaze before it could consume the home, and quickly noticed multiple points of origin, a classic sign of arson. Pictured: the large home the Longs raised their daughters in. Maggie, a high school senior, was their youngest. After Maggie’s murder, Maggie’s parents sold the ranch property where they’d raised their family. What had once been their dream home had become the site of their youngest daughter’s murder. The Long family home was surrounded by acres of ranch land that adjoined a national forest. Maggie’s killers targeted the rural home for burglary and murdered her whenever she caught them in the act. No neighbors were present to hear the commotion caused by Maggie’s killers, but a tenant renting an attic apartment in the Long family’s large, rural home called 911. 1 of 3 suspect sketches law enforcement have released in relation to Maggie’s case. 1 of 3 suspect sketches law enforcement have release in relation to Maggie’s case. 1 of 3 suspect sketches law enforcement have released in relation to Maggie’s case.
